Oneplus 6 isn't cheap in Australia – it's almost on par with other high end smartphones out there. That[s because One plus don't sell directly to Australia and we have to use overseas merchants to buy it. I saw the other day that the S8 has gone down almost half price to over A$600 whereas last years OP5T is still in a high price bracket of A$700- A$850 or so. If I could root the S8 and install custom roms willy nilly, then I'd go for the S8 – if I needed a new smartphone in an instant.

I have the one plus 6 in the base configuration. 6 GB ram and 64gb storage. It flies along in everything I do and never skips a beat. I don't miss wireless charging as I find it slow and prefer a faster way to charge my device which the dash charger provides. The notch is there to give you maximum screen for the size of your device and it does just that. Build quality cameras, Software etc are all top drawer and for its low price they have a flagship that will appeal to a huge audience.

You get what you pay for between the two. However, I got my S9+ and 50% off through T-Mobile's new Military Plan for veterans and active duty members and their families. In essence I paid less than the One Plus 6 for the best phone on the market.

Samsung phone only has a year life which is why I would never go back to Samsung even if they give a phone made of gold at that price tag

Hmmm I do not understand why you do not compare the S9+ price with an OP6 with 6 GB + 64 GB – the difference is 310$!!… trying to manipulate? And sharpness… well, you can not see a difference cause it is limited by the possibilities of human vision and in that size it is not possible to see any difference in an 100% reproduction. if you zoom a Foto to 400% maybe (depends how many pixels) but by normal 100% there is no difference in sharpness (you can try with a blind test) and did you mention that the notch can be easy eliminated? And did you mention that Oxigen is a clean OS while Samsung's OS is full of bloatware?

You can adjust the notch settings on the oneplus 6 and it wont bother when watching vids

    (May 27, 2018 - 5:32 am)

Why didn't oneplus just go 2k resolution and battery would have been good,4k is great but battery is shite.what piss s me off is that these numptys have been doing 4k for a while now yet know great improvements on screen time, yes you can go cutum ROM root, because if you've any sense you will, yet even then battery is on good on powersave option so your sacrificing your potential of phone..basically you can't win until these greedy bastardized manufacturer s up there game a lot…

This video is not accurate on some things. Like this seceret files thing
The OnePlus has the same thing called app locker in security settings and lockbox in the file manager. If you actually used the OnePlus you would know. But you can tell from this video you don't actually use the device . Just a Samsung fanboy video really

I know. But when Android P does come out, OP6 will get it before Samsung. Samsung is terribly slow. Trust me. I have the note 8 so I know

Only phone with notch I would even consider would be the x plus other than that Samsung wins

Good review but incomplete… I have been a Samsung owner exclusively since the Galaxy S2… however I have found that most of the 'premium' features included aka bloatware I have no use for… I prefer a lighter build so I can add features that I want… which is why I am considering the Oneplus 6… it is really targeting people who want a quality phone to personalize to their preference at an affordable price… hence the 'Never Settle'… also as I understand the notch is easily hidden in settings…

No competition against the magestic S9 plus !!
Comin from a S9 plus user.

The S9+ cannot film 6 seconds of 960fps. It can only film 960fps for 0.2 seconds, which in playback in normal frame rate becomes 6 seconds (13:15).
And there's no telephoto lens on the OnePlus (14:30).
