Nintendo Switch Review: Game Boy Grows Up

The Game Boy for a new generation. The home console you take with you. The new Nintendo for your pocket. Whatever droll headline you can dream up for the Nintendo Switch, it’s guaranteed to fall short – because this truly is a gadget like no other. I bought the Nintendo Switch thinking it would be a fun excuse to review something other than a smartphone or laptop … but half a week in, Zelda has completely taken over my nights, and my days are spent bleary-eyed, pining for the feel of Joycons under my thumbs. This honeymoon phase can’t completely compensate for the Switch’s missteps, and I’m worried about what happens when I finally finish Breath Of The Wild … but I’m hopeful that this new category of device inspires enough developers to write enough games to keep the Switch afloat. If you’re weighing the cost/benefit of buying a Nintendo Switch of your own, click on through to the MrMobile Nintendo Switch review … and hold on to your wallet; it gets bumpy from here.
