Share this article on social media.

Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ refined the the S lineup. They introduced the infinity display and a new design language with minimum bezels. It’s been 1 year since the release of the Galaxy S8/S8+ and even their successors have been released, the Galaxy S9 and the S9 Plus.

So, after 1 year, is the S8 and S8+ still relevant, or is it over?

Saki I do agree with you that Samsung is very feature rich but because of those so many extra feature (bloatware) the phone slows down after 4 to 6 months and causes lags. That is why the Smasung phones aren't really smooth and fast as the Pixel or iPhone. My S8 started slowing down after 5 months and it was really bothering me and luckily for me I found this app called BK package disabler, which allowed me to disable all the bloatware, Samsung apps and feathers that i don't use. After doing that my S8 been super fast! Longer battery life, no lag at all or heating up as much as before. What I'm trying to say is its good to add features to the phone but what's the point of doing all that if it ruins the user experience of the phone?

Agree 100%. The S8 was truly revolutionary! I always used to have phones for 2 years, until the S8. The S7 made me switch from iPhone to Samsung. The S8 made me upgrade the phone after just one year for the first time ever. Even though my S7 still works seamlessly to this day. Just couldn't pass it up. Finally the S8 looks better to me than the S9 (which I'm skipping), the battery has only improved, it's still amazing and I'm keeping it for another year until the Samsung 10 is released. πŸ‘

Love my S8 and I thank you for all of your helpful videos. By the way, when do you think it will see the Oreo update? This is my only disappointment that it hasn't been updated yet.

I agree. I need features and bang for my buck. Stock Android is just to boring for me. To each his own

I like what I've seen about the s9+, have had s8+ for about 8 months. It's tempting but I'm waiting for the Note 9. Always kind of wanted a Note since Note 3 but never had one. Hopefully the battery matches the phone in the next Note. Overall, very satisfied w the s8+ though!

The WOW factor wore off quickly with my S8+
Next phone I get will not have curved glass that is designed to break if you even put it down roughly on a table, and will have a battery that I can swap out quickly, and better get android updates a lot sooner. AND BIXBY MUST DIE !
NOPE,…'s not going to be another samsung.
Sammy, you can take your overpriced garbage and shove it where the sun don't shine

My S8 still feels new. Not a single scratch. It is my daily device and eventhough I had bought an iPhoneX because of the marketing I ended up selling that piece of shit. Most people I know have as well (even top reviewers). Why? The S8 is a better device. May not have as fast of a processor but as a tool it is simply better, more intuitive and multitasking is just a feature I can't live without.

Kudos to Samsung. They really nailed it and I hear the S9 is just a moo refined variant of the S8 which means the best just got better πŸ™‚

I love my s8+ that's why I am buying new s9+ since it's only $390 after I sell my s8+ so this is no brainier.

I am keeping my S8! I love it. I'll upgrade when the 10 comes out.

    (March 11, 2018 - 4:41 am)

It's a bit slow in 2018. I regret not getting a Note 8. I thought battery it's more important but I was wrong. 4GB of RAM is not enough for hard usage.
