How Our World Would Change If Everyone Became Vegan

We all know someone who is plant-based and never eats meat products because they are vegan. There are different reasons why people choose to go vegan, perhaps for their own personal health, for the sake of the environment, or to stop animal suffering. But let’s imagine what would happen if everybody on the planet suddenly decided to become vegan?

Even if some farm animals, say, sheep or pigs, can somehow adapt to life in the wild, it won’t likely be the same case for others like chickens, for instance, because they’re simply too domesticated and unfit for life off the farm. And just because they’re free to roam where they choose, that doesn’t mean they’ll be well-fed and healthy.
Economies around the world have their own serious problems to deal with. The inhabitants of countries like Burundi, Eritrea, and Zambia don’t even have time to think about going vegan. The lack of food and major famine leaves them happy with just about anything to eat.
If everyone suddenly went vegan, the land that we used to graze livestock or grow food for them would no longer be occupied. Since we “stole” a lot of this territory from the forests, then we can return what is Mother Nature’s and plant trees in this freed-up space.
If they have an unbalanced diet, vegans may develop a deficiency of vital substances like protein, calcium, zinc, iron, vitamin D3, and vitamin B12. This, in turn, can make them more prone to certain diseases. We should be especially careful when it comes to children’s nutrition, especially nursing infants, whose only source of nutrition is their mother’s milk or baby formula.
Ready-made vegan food for dogs and cats has been on the market for quite some time now. Dogs, like people, are omnivores and could theoretically go vegan without much harm, even though this is still a controversial statement since no one has conducted serious research on this topic. Cats, however, are predators that need meat or at least animal products. So forcing pets to eat vegan food can very well be regarded as animal cruelty, which contradicts the very essence of veganism.
For now, it’s difficult to say whether humanity will ever give up consuming animal products altogether. In any case, each of us, regardless of our food preferences, can do our planet some good by being more respectful of and careful with nature, animals, and the people around us.

What would happen if everybody in the US went vegan? 8:28

SUMMARY
-Most domesticated animals are too dependent on people and unlikely to survive on their own. Therefore, setting these animals free would mean dooming them to a slow and painful death from hunger, disease, and predator attacks.
-Farms would be ruined since not all of them would have the time or resources to make the switch to cultivating vegetables, fruits, and grains instead of animal products.
-As soon as the number of cattle is decreased, methane emissions into the atmosphere will drop as well.
-Vegan food reduces the risk of developing type II diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and certain cancers. A vegan diet also significantly contributes to weight loss.
-Forcing pets to eat vegan food can very well be regarded as animal cruelty, which contradicts the very essence of veganism.
-If everybody in the US went vegan, greenhouse gas emissions would go down by 28%, reducing total U.S. emissions by 2.6%. Food production in the country would increase, but that food would likely be short of calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin B12.

So I work with a veterinary dermatologist and a vegan vet neurologist. Its agreed in the world of allergies concerning dogs that meat proteins are usually the cause to skin allergies more so than any other allergens. Very VERY BIASED AND misleading!

The photo of meat eating Nigella Lawson is old. Also, the vegan blond lady is not pretty like Nigella, something you can't fix, no matter what you eat.

This video is so biased! There's no real research here. It's probably sponsored by Big Food. Its not true that if the world went vegan we would need more agricultural land. Truth is, right now all the food fed to animals people eat, is enough to feed the world and end hunger altogether. I've been a vegan for almost a year and the only supplement I really need is Vitamin B12, since it's in the soil and as we wash everything, it's kind of hard to get.

This video just ask a question and answers it. Like how lifesbiggestquestion channel does. Hey the entire world will not go Vegan. That's a no brainer. This video is alike an alternative reality if it did happen. Think of it like that. Do people really have to dumb down this video for some people. The narrator clearly said "LET'S IMAGINE". The Western world has such wealth but so many empty brains. Explains alot.

I have no problem with people becoming vegan/vegetarian, it’s your life after all. What I have a problem with is when they tell me I’m a bad person for not being a vegan/vegetarian. It drives me crazy when people don’t mind their own business.

    why again?
    animals have feelings?
Plants supply oxygen, like, every single food has something that benefits us except, you know, junk food.
Why you trying to save animals instead of letting something go naturally.
    WE ALL DIE

    fbbWaddell

    (May 15, 2018 - 1:27 am)

    1. There is more biologically available calcium in a serving of broccoli or kale than any animal product. The only reason meat is a source of b12 is because the animals are given b12 supplements because they will die without it in their unnatural corn fed diets. There is 40% of the b12 you need in a serving of sea vegetables or mushrooms, nori and shitaki especially. Most meat eating Americans are vitamin D deficient as well as other important nutrients found in vegetables.
    2. The theories of economical collapse and of droves of wandering domesticated livestock would only happen if the whole world went vegan at once, which won't ever happen. This kind of change would take at least a couple of decades.
    3. The majority of people who go vegan not only feel years younger, but they look it. Genetics plays a part, but to show the exception of someone genetically prone to rapid aging, and present it as the paradigm is a blatant manipulation of facts to make an unproven point.
    4. I have just lost all respect for the bright side. All you had to do was present an unbiased, objective version of the facts. Sadly, that is not the case here.
    Unsubscribed.

I was raised on red meat! Every night growing up, we had some sort of red meat…
except when we did fish or some other thing, so, yeah, ain't gonna quit now! LOL
I should be eating more veggies and fruit, though, but we have a few Orange trees,
(and I have a little patch of garden in the yard where I'll plant some carrots, radishes, beets, bellpeppers, etc)
and I love doing my own juicing… even though I filter out the pulp, I replace the pulp into the juice,
after taking out all the seeds! Supposed to be good for your heart and blood!
I'll do some natural smoothies with all that, too, even though I need to buy the grapes and berries,
and I have some summer spinach plants… I'll toss a few of those leaves in the mix as well! Very Yummy! 🙂

Reservations for farm animals? If the reservations were fenced in and single sexed then the problem would be over within the span of their lifetimes because they would all die of old age without breeding.

The only exceptions would be females who laid eggs which lived without being fertilised. It happens. I suppose they could be neutered.

    (May 15, 2018 - 1:27 am)

One thing you neglected to mention is that men would become less masculine and fertile. Cholesterol is essential for the production of testosterone. While the body CAN produce cholesterol, doing so uses up resources the body needs for other functions. This can create health problems and nutritional deficiencies later on.

Very good topic. I've tried a vegan lifestyle for about a year. I lost a lot of weight and felt better mostly but felt burdened because of the difficulty to get enough healthy food from places. I starved a lot which subsequently made me develop snacking more, which is a problem I didn't have before, just trying to find something to put on my stomach.

you're a liar, if we went vegan, it would speed up extinction, we would be destroying plants more along with letting the thing that speeds up global warming AND eat plants LIVE, also if we ate nothing but plants we would develop cancer, becoming vegan is BAD
